A little more strength training, a little less yoga, but still on my #yogastreak. I was bound and determined to get in 3 ST sessions this week since last week I only managed 2, and despite a kind of busy and crazy week, I managed (thanks partially to my husband, who took Chester to the vet twice this week since he had the week off from work).
I’m joining up with Holly of Hoho Runs and Tricia of Misssippipiddlin to recap last week.
You don’t have to be a runner to join in & tell us how your week went! So how was my running last week?
- Monday: Dogwalk, 10 min Kickboxing WU, L&L, Yogaworks PM
- Tuesday: YFPR Flexibility & Flow, Easy 3.5 on TM
- Wednesday: Dogwalk, Dance Abs WU, L&L, Perfect in 10 Destress Yoga
- Thursday: Dog walk, Easy 4.5 Xmas Lights Run, YFR Foundation postrun
- Friday: Dogwalk, Rockin Body Abs WU, L&L, Yogaworks PM
- Saturday: 6 miles LSD, Yoga for Runners Foundation postrun
- Sunday: Yoga for Athletes, Building Core Strength & Stretching the Shoulders (which oddly included some IT Band streteching)
Mileage: 14 (+ .9)
Running update
70 on Christmas eve? I had already planned to try to get in a Christmas lights run in my neighborhood, but with that weather and the rain holding off, who could resist? Not to mention rocking a sparkleskirt on Christmas eve (it really helps to be Jewish, of course).
Darlene (My First 5k & More) and I met up for 6 miles on Saturday. My “long” runs are faster when I run with her since she’s a faster runner. Although the last couple of months, since I’m not training for anything, I don’t watch my pace.
But the new 2:30 run/walk intervals do seem to speed me up on longer runs. In the dark or with Darlene, anyway, apparently. Some of my runs are still pretty slow.
Chester update
He did just fine while he was getting laser treatments every day, but Friday may have been his worst day ever (still eating). I wasn’t surprised, since Wednesday was his last treatment. Better Saturday, worse Sunday, and so it goes.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see a video of him very determinedly walking with his chew Sunday. He did not want to give that up! Lola knows that when I start getting Chester’s midday meds ready she’ll get some food, too, so she abandoned her chew and came running when she heard me doing that. I had to take Chester’s away.

Weekend Favorites
Darlene kindly consented to go see “The Danish Girl” with me (between her multiple holiday activities) on Friday and I really enjoyed the movie — not to mention it’s been almost 6 months since I saw any movie in a theater!
No, I have not yet seen “Star Wars”, but I’ve no doubt that we will once it’s not quite so popular.
We also picked up another couple of chairs (put out on the side of the road for free in our neighborhood) that are similar to the ones I bought a few weeks ago. The ones we bought a few weeks ago are pictured above; the new ones are similar, but more of a blond wood.
I don’t care that they don’t match; now we should have enough chairs for next Thanksgiving.
Any movie (besides Star Wars) that you’d recommend?
I saw your video of Chester. It was adorable. It’s like his little baby! I’ve got to get me one of those sparkle skirts! I just love them! Looks like a great weekend! Glad you got to see a movie! 😀

I was really glad to finally see a movie too. And I might go this weekend, too. We’ll see.

I mean that video…too cute! He is adorable!!
Great job getting your workouts in this week!
I haven’t been to the movies (well for grown ups) in forever!
I like the non matching chair look. I think it adds more character to the space.
Have a good week.

Well then you’d feel really at home here because none we have 8 chairs and only 4 of them match. 🙂
Everytime we give him a chew in the bedroom he carries it out into the living room. Yesterday he kept chomping away on it forever in the bedroom.
No doubt he was afraid I’d take it away from him, and of course eventually I did just that.

Since I was on vacation I went to the movie 3 times last week, that is more than in the past 6 months ! Its fun to run with someone once in a while.

We watched Mission Impossible over the weekend–I wanted to see it in the theater but getting my husband to go is mission impossible! Anyways, it was great. I love those kind of movies. I don’t think I’ll be seeing Star Wars. Not my thing.

MI6 was the last movie we saw, as a matter of fact!

Yes, it was fun to run with you. Even though I’m not working this week, I doubt they’re will be any strength training or yoga in my future. I just can’t motivate myself to do it.
Don’t know what the weather will be doing but I have a car appt on Wed at Keeler in Latham so will probably run at the Nisky trail or the Crossings.

Wed I have a vet appt in the afternoon. I’m going to run, not sure where or when. Today I’m sticking to the treadmill! Although I still have to walk the dogs, too, or at least Lola.

I ran yesterday so today is my rest day…I’m glad because of the ugly weather.

If we were to get together tomorrow it would probably have to be morning, since I have to take Chester to the vet in the afternoon (and will need to wash my hair at some point!)

We watched Dirty Dancing in the RV while it rained Christmas Eve. I love that movie, I was glad to see Chester is feeling well enough to hoard his chew! Isn’t non matching chairs in style now anyway right? 🙂 Hope you have a great week Judy! I’m enjoying all the travel but it does wear you out. See you in 2016 !!!

Love Dirty Dancing! Yes, travel is definitely tiring. But worth it, right?

I love to see a movie in the theatre but sometimes getting the hubby there is impossible. The kids are much easier to talk into a movie 🙂 Sounds like a nice weekend overall for you! Funny about the chairs, we drag them around from all over too and have borrowed folding chairs before, you gotta do what you gotta do! Did you cut your hair or is it just up in that picture? Hope you and Chester have a great week!

We borrowed chairs this year. Hopefully we wont have to next year! Not that we really have room for them in our house.
My husband likes movies, but somewhere along the way he stopped wanting to go see them (with a few exceptions). 😦

Nice job keeping up with your workouts last week! I loved running in 70 degree weather on Christmas Eve too. Im not excited for the colder weather we are expecting this week, but I guess it is almost January!

One can always hope for a mild winter. Or dream, anyway.

What a great idea to dress festively and run on Christmas Eve with the lights all aglow. I wish I could have done that. I don’t even know which movies are at the theaters right now. I did see Star Wars (and enjoyed it!) but that is the first movie I’ve seen in a theater in ages. We usually order up something on cable. Chester has got spunk! Thanks for linking Judy and Happy New Year!

We cut the cord on cable this year. We do have Netflix & Amazon Prime, but they really don’t get a lot of great movies. And I like the movies!
We do rent one every once in a while, too.

I love your Christmas Eve run gear 🙂 Great consistency for the week.
I will have to try that ratio with the intervals, I am still trying to find a happy ratio to do some longer training runs.
I saw sweet Chester in his video! He is so cute.

Great job getting your workouts in for the week! We had a lot of rain and storms last week. I squeezed my runs when there was a break in the storms. It was so humid here. I was running in shorts in December. We’re expecting more rain tomorrow then a cool down. I didn’t go see the new Star Wars movie. It’s not really my thing.
