Kind of like me. Still battling that on again off again low grade temp. I’m not sick enough to not work out, and not quite feeling good enough to work out as much as normal. There’s the horrible crud that’s been making the rounds that lasts for weeks, and thankfully mine is not that bad.
I’m joining up with the Weekly Wrap from Holly @ Hohoruns and Tricia @ Misssipppiddlin (ok, it’s just Holly now — unless she has a new cohost), but I just decided to leave Tricia in there. We all appreciate your work so much, ladies!

Running updates
Tuesday
After so many rest days, I was definitely itching for a little movement. We’d had 6 inches of the white stuff the previous day, but Mr. Judy took care of that with the snow blower.
Still, messy and cold, I took it to the treadmill. I also increased my run interval to 2.5 minutes, but decreased the pace a little.
Still on the treadmill and still working on some endurance, I again slowed the pace just a little but increased my run interval to 3 1/2 minutes. Even just an easy 3 miles seemed to take a long time.
Sunday
Yup, still on the treadmill. I watched the first two episodes of “13 Reasons Why” — can’t say as it grabbed me the way it seems to have a lot of people, but then again, it got me through 6 miles on the treadmill..
Favorites of the week
There wasn’t a whole lot of anything going on this week. The bomb cyclone bombed (in that we only got 4 inches, thankfully, which isn’t much in these parts). Yes, it got really, really cold, but the good news is I was able to hunker down at home for most of it and we never lost power.
I thought I would try to begin highlighting a few of my favorite blogs from the week here (in case you missed them):

I am also enjoying the freedom from training — at the moment, anyway. I’m getting at some things in the house that have been on the back burner a long, long time. I had actually hoped to be running more mileage at this point, just for base building, but it is what it is. I’m happy that I’ve still been able to get in some runs.
I’ve been working on goals for 2019 and some other healthy behaviors I’d like to make habits. Would you believe I’ve finally done some Epsom soaks? Twice? More on that in Tuesday’s post, which is all about healthy goals you might consider for 2018. All bets are off when I get into serious training, no doubt, but for now, I have the time, and hopefully I can make some new habits.
And that’s a wrap!
This week I am also linking up with the Sunday Fitness & Food Linkup brought to you by Ilka @ Ilka’s Blog and Angela @ Marathons & Motivation.
Let’s get the conversation started:
Made your 2018 goals — do share!?
Did you get dumped on or was the bomb cyclone a bomb in your area, too?
Are you a skier & look forward to snow?
I hope you’re taking part in the Burpee challenge. 🙂 And that you’re feeling better. This has been a brutal winter so far.

Sorry, I’m not much into that type of challenge. I’m pretty good about regular strength training (when I’m feeling well) — right now it’s a lot more yoga, though.
Winter is just getting started! Although we’re supposed to be into the 40s by Thursday, but more snow tomorrow. Could always be worse, though, I remember when I came up here to look at houses — that was a really bad winter. And I have some photos of poor Chester & Lola when the snowbanks were taller than me . . .

Thanks, Michelle! I didn’t get nearly as sick as a lot of people (including my husband), but like many, it just doesn’t want to go away.

I’ve heard that from so many people this year. That lingering sickness is no fun!

I’m lucky it wasn’t a cold — no breathing problems. 🙂

Thanks for sharing my post!
It’s FREEZING here in Chicago – no bomb cyclone though as far as I know. No skiing for me but my husband went to Mammoth CA this weekend and is planning to go to Jackson Hole. Both places have some snow! I hope you feel better soon!

It’s cold, here, too, but not as cold as you — and even though we didn’t get that much snow, I think we have more than you. The skiers are happy!

I can relate to the cold/ crud. I got it just before Christmas (12/22). & I still have it. OMG it has wreaked havoc with my running. Lack of breathing can slow one down quite a bit!
Made your 2018 goals — do share!? Lose 10# & keep it off. Complete my 1st half.
Did you get dumped on or was the bomb cyclone a bomb in your area, too? No, but here in Wisconsin the temps have been sub-zeroes for weeks! Treadmill running here.
Are you a skier & look forward to snow? Not a skier & I don’t look forward to snow.

Thankfully mine wasn’t a cold, so breathing wasn’t effected. Hope you’re feeling better soon! My husband is STILL coughing.
Nope, I don’t look forward to snow either, although we’re slated to get more today. And then be in the 40s by Friday — temporarily, of course — how weird is that?

Great job getting those workouts in even when you don’t feel well. I hope that you feel better soon! We didn’t get much snow but we had frigid weather! I’m so thankful for this warm up!
Two of my biggest goals for 2018 are to run a sub 1:55 HM and become a certified personal trainer. We’ll see how it goes!

Good luck with your goals! Both sound pretty awesome to me.

Glad you are on the mend and that the bomb cyclone just fizzled out for you. We’ve certainly had a rough winter so far!
Thanks so much for sharing my post! Have a great week!

Since I’ve been marathon training, I’ve been doing weekly epsom soaks and now I’m a believer!! Hey, I think 14 miles is great mileage for anyone …especially with the weather you’ve been dealing with! Hope you’re feeling 100% soon!!!

Well, I’m not sick enough to not exercise, but just don’t feel well enough to get in my usual level of activity. This too shall pass.

I hope you are feeling back to 100% soon. It looks like you stayed pretty active though. Our weather was just really cold (for us). I can’t imagine having to shovel or even blow snow. I do snow ski but have to travel a long distance to get to a decent slope. Hopefully, we’ll do that in March. I have very little planned for 2018. But, that’s OK with me. Thanks for linking!

Some people love to shovel. I don’t get it, personally. There will probably be more shoveling today, I didn’t even put that on the activity — we haven’t had a lot, but it’s that irksome little bits of snow that have to be cleared or the downhill driveway turns into a skating rink — I have fallen on my butt just walking to get the mail before!

Ironically, it seems like most of the country has more snow than Iowa (and, just to clarify, I’m quite alright with that), but we certainly do have the bitterly cold weather. The hubby took Max for his first official walk of 2018 (I think). We’ve been just letting him out the front door, and he does his business in record time and races back to the house pronto. We should shovel him a circle path in our back yard LOL

We don’t have that much snow. Half a foot (from several different storms), maybe less. It’s just that annoying an inch here, a dusting there, 4 inches there . . .
The dogs really don’t like getting their tootsies wet. So a racetrack in the backyard it is!

I’m so sorry that you aren’t feeling well 😦 I really hope that you start to feel better soon. I’m impressed that you were still able to get in as many workouts as you did considering you’re not feeling 100%.
The “bomb cyclone” dumped about a foot of snow in my city – it was definitely not a fun day and we have so many mounds of snow all around the city.

My sympathies on a foot of snow! That is never fun. And I hate the mounds — because I’m so short, I get into the situation where I can’t actually see around them to turn out of my neighborhood!
While I don’t feel 100%, I’m not also super sick. Just a mildly elevated temp that won’t completely go away & makes me tired & achy.

I hope you’re working on ^ 2019 ^ goals — otherwise I’m way behind! I’m enjoying my time “off” from my regular schedule. I hope I find the motivation to get back to my regular routine.

Um, did you mean 2019 or 2018? Nope, not working on 2019 goals — just 2018! One year at a time!

Nice job with your runs…I had one treadmill run last week for the first time in months and it was tough, even watching one of my favorite TV shows! Hope you’re feeling better!

I think I’m finally getting outside for a run today! It’s a lot warmer (but windy, so not warm).
When I’m not feeling 100%, I just don’t want to get all sweaty, which I do even in the winter, and then I get so chilled afterwards.

That’s a lot of miles for someone who has been sick. hope you feel better soon.
I won’t comment on the weather because you know what it is like. The worst was driving 7 hours from Buffalo to Albany..half of them in a blizzard.
It’s sad when 10 degrees outside feels warm (like yesterday in NYC.)
I hope to run outside this week but rain to me is less appealing than snow and that’s in the forecast when it warms up. Spring can’t come soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Colorado’s winter has been mild. We have had some snow, but we’re not at our normal levels yet. I’m just waiting for it to catch up though. I’ll probably be working from home those days.

From a snow standpoint it hasn’t been that bad.
Although we seem to get some almost every week. Still, we don’t have the towering mountains of snow we sometimes get . . . yet.
The cold, though. It’s been bad! We’re having a nice little, very short, January thaw at the moment though. About time!

I have been on the treadmill alot this past weekend as well. I have seen the 13 reasons why. I didn’t think it was the greatest but it left me intrigued for what was coming next.
