Pushing to enjoy: 11/2-8 Weekly Wrap

It was a week of highs and lows, races and easy running, and mad decluttering in the house. I’m joining up with Holly of Hoho Runs and Tricia of Misssippipiddlin to recap last week.

I’m a bit behind on comments right now, as I’m a bit busier than normal carting Chester around to vets, medicating him, refilling his water dish every minute, etc. I’ll get back to you; please be patient with me!

  • Thursday: Dog walk (2), 3 miles easy
  • Friday: Dogwalk), Physique 57 Abs & Arms Express
  • Saturday: Dogwalk (2), Yoga for Runners Hips
  • Sunday: Yoga for Runners Foundation & Hamstrings, Stockadeathon 15k, Dogwalk

Running easy & racing
I’ll recap Stocakeathon, my first 15k (and supposedly the oldest one in the country) at some point later this week. Let’s just say I was pleased with my time and still stopped to take photos — many times! So many firsts.

I also got to meet Frank Shorter at the packet pickup. He was very gracious & signed my visor & obviously posed for a photo. Which looks a lot like Darlene’s photo with him (although we weren’t there at the same time).

Physique57 (not an affiliate link) was running a special (over now, sorry) of $31 for unlimited online classes. For those that don’t know, they’re barre classes. I’d wanted to try Physique57 for a long time, and not too long ago something I purchased included a free week there & I liked it. But didn’t want to pay 50+/month.

So I got in some more cross training/strength training this week.

And for the first time in a long time, I had an easy run midweek. Since I’ve only been running 3 x week, each run has a specific purpose and none of them are easy runs. Now that the 15k is in the books (and I could’ve totally done 1 more half, but probably not at the pace I did the 15k), it’s time to slow down and do a lot more easy running. Give my body a little rest and maybe get in some more strength training. But not stop running altogether, because I don’t want to have to rebuild endurance again.

I would tell you that I knew where everything was in that mess on the left. Yeah, not so much when I finally started to organize it. Still working on it, and no doubt it won’t stay neat and organized because that’s just not me, but I’m loving it right now!

And loving my purple mason jars (so many uses!); I’ve bought them at both Target and via Amazon.

Chester update
I discussed a lot of what’s going on with Chester in 5 Ways to Know It’s Time. I wasn’t sure I’d make my race and I waited to the last minute to sign up, but as I type this he’s laying in his dogbed in our “office” with me. A little moaning & groaning going on, but he’s hanging in there.

While I was out racing my husband was bagging up the “pretty” (aka, all those leaves you people without fall keep ooohing and aaahing over). He took a little time to take some pics of the dogs. Above is my favorite.

Weekend Favorite
I made banana chocolate chip pancakes for lunch after my race (not the brownie ones pictured above). I had planned on some leftover lasagna soup (that ended up being dinner), but I raced hard and I was just ready for a treat! They never disappoint.
