I tried, for a short time, to do a blog about cookbooks. I had a great blog name, but I didn’t stick with it. Food & cooking & baking & cookbooks are still one of my passions.
I am not one of those people who just throw in a little of this & a little of that – I need a recipe to follow. And I love trying new recipes! I’m going to try to share with you what I’m making each week. I make no promises to do Food Porn Friday every Friday, but I’m usually trying new stuff so I’ll try.
Excuse the photography. My husband is the photographer in the family & I tend to be too impatient to eat to take pretty pictures, but I try to get a little arty. Sometime.

PB Cookie Dough Overnight Oats
These are good. I love how full of protein they are. Not enough peanut butter taste – not quite sure how to tweak the recipe to get more PB flavor, aside from adding more PB2 or real nut butter, which I haven’t tried . . . yet. Makes a great postrun snack.

Cauliflower Hash Browns
I couldn’t track down a link to the ecookbook that I got this recipe from, but 101 Fat Burning Snacks is by the same author & I recommend it (no affliation). And I definitely recommend these; they were awesome.
Sorry, my vegetarian/vegan friends, they do have bacon in them. You could leave it out, of course. Oh, & using Trader Joe’s Frozen Cauliflower Rice would make this super simple. I have some. Yet I grated a cauliflower by hand. Senior moment.

Blogilates Healthy Ice Cream Sandwich
I have nothing against the real deal. But I can’t eat ice cream sandwiches anywhere near as often as I’d like. And who wouldn’t like an ice cream sandwich as a pre or post run snack? Not to mention what are you going to do with an overripe banana in the summer anyway?
Actually, I have all sorts of ways to use up overripe bananas!
They are very plain, but I jazzed them up with chocolate chips this time. Because I’m wild like that. I even remembered to use oat flour instead of grinding oats.
Just one suggestion: freeze the banana soft serve for a while before you assemble these, or you’ll have an oozing mess like I did last night. Still tasted good & my run went well, but trust me on that.
Those cookies in the background will be part of an upcoming post. Just a little teaser.
