I keep getting lost in the #purelytwins site. These women are just geniuses in the kitchen. And try out their workouts, too! I might just need a plaintain intervention right now and I’m nowhere near done with the plaintain recipes I want to try.
I teased on instagram today (@chocolaterunsjudy) with the start of the Labor Day dessert I’m making from the site.
Blue headings = links, by the way.

Purely Twins Plaintain Chia Wrap
My wrap didn’t turn out quite as pictured on the Website. How do they get it that thin?
And I’ll be honest: that hemp protein has a grassy taste. I wonder what sort of protein powder I could substitute for it? Clearly vanilla and chocolate, which is what I have, won’t cut it. I’ll have to look around because yes, I want to make this again.
It made tasty wraps. Big wraps. And it didn’t taste like cardboard like so many low carb wraps.

GF English Muffin
Again, mine didn’t come out like the photos on the Website. Of course I don’t have peanut flour. What I do have is PB2; chocolate PB2, of course.
Still, it was tasty and I like that it didn’t have any sweetener like some similar recipes I’ve made. Plus it has a little pumpkin in it.

Purely Twins Protein Thin Mint Cookie
Just not batting a thousand this week. These were good, and again, I totally plan to make them again. But they did have a slightly bitter taste. It’s:
- The stevia
- The fact that my carob expired in 2010?
- It needs some honey

Chester’s Birthday Oatmeal Carob Cookies
Chester turned 10 this week. We seriously weren’t 100% sure he would make it. To celebrate the fact that he did, I baked him some cookies. Keep in mind my dogs will pretty literally eat anything. You can watch them scarfing these down on Instagram.
I just kind of threw this together:
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 banana, smashed
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp carob chips
- Splash of vanilla & cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 350 (I used a toaster oven)
- Mix everything together and drop onto baking sheet.
- Bake approximately 20 minutes
You can leave them soft, or bake them longer to get harder cookies,ย or even just leave them in the oven with the door slightly ajar to let them dehydrate.
Chester used to be the easiest dog in the world to medicate. He would eat his meds right from my hand. Not anymore. I just might have stuffed them in one of these cookies on his birthday. Worked, too. So far.
