Race week!!!
I took it mostly easy before my race, especially since I managed to pull a back muscle on Wednesday. Although it was bothersome, I knew it wouldn’t effect my race & it didn’t. Lots of yoga, a chiropractor appointment, a massage & icing helped — but it was still a little sore on race day.
We spent the day before the race visiting old haunts in the Burlington area; we lived here 30 years ago as newlyweds.
Spoiler: it was also a PR.

What do you consider ideal race weather?
Yay for a PR! Visiting old haunts is always nice. Hope your back is feeling better. Perfect race weather…..low to mid-50’s….same as perfect running weather π

Back still not 100% but better. It was never serious, just a nuisance.

How fun to visit the “old” neighborhood! Cannot wait to hear about your race and PR! WOoooot! Ideal conditions for me are what I had in Twin Cities. Low to mid 40’s to start, not heating up past mid-50’s. No wind.

Yup, no wind would’ve been nice!

WOOHOO! So happy for you. You deserve it. You work hard.
I think my race had ideal weather – sunny, breezy, 50s. But the weather was the only good thing, I think.

Well first things first……CONGRATULATIONS on yourPR that is super awesome!!! I’m so very glad it went well for you and Darlene said it best you so deserved this one! I can not wait to hear the details! How neat to reminisce in your old neighborhood. I’m fortunate that my grandmother at the ripe old age of 93 is living in the house I grew up in so when I go see her I always walk back to my old room and try an remember how things were then. Thank you for linking up with us and enjoy your week of rest after your great race! π

Definitely prefer cooler race weather. 50s ? Except waiting in the cold… HATE that. Even more so when it rains. Congrats on your PR.

Thanks! Nothing worse than a cold rain. Thankfully it didn’t rain (just on the drive up).

Congratulations on a fantastic race, Judy! And a PR too! WOW. I’m glad your back didn’t cause any problems. Did it feel strange visiting old places? I’ve always had a hard time leaving any place I’ve lived. I get attached, I guess. My ideal race weather is upper 40s or low 50s, sunshine and no wind. I can’t wait to read your recap. Thanks for linking up with us!

No, I couldn’t leave VT fast enough. It’s a great place to visit, but I hated living there! A lot has changed. Thanks!

I think at that point I was smiling because it was just about over . . . but it was a good race. π

My ideal race weather: mid-40’s, very light breeze, and party cloudy. π

After that last race it would have to be a VERY light breeze!
