Looking ahead I could tell next week wasn’t going to be a good time for us to be daytripping and hiking. Wednesday was really picture perfect so we headed out to Lenox, Ma for some good food and walking and a short hike. Sandwiched in between I completed four runs and some strength training.

Workouts update
- Monday: Yoga (50 min), 3 miles easy, Cardio Core Toning, Yoga (20 min)
- Tuesday: Yoga (30 min), 2 mile recovery run, Dogwalk, Yoga (20 min)
- Wednesday: Yoga (30 min), Dogwalk, Daytrip with a couple of short hikes
- Thursday: Yoga (30 min), Dogwalk, PB ST (25 min), Yoga (10 minutes)
- Friday: Yoga (30 min), 8 mile LSD, Yoga (20 min)
- Saturday: Yoga (20 min), Dogwalk, 2 mile recovery run, PB Walking with Weights (25 min), Friend Yoga (45 min)
- Sunday: Yoga (20 min), Dogwalk, REST DAY!!!

Running Update
Monday Intention: hot, sweaty, easy
Our weather has just been bonkers the latter part of the Spring, the temps are all over the place. Knowing that it would be hot and humid today (then cooling down supposedly as the week goes on), I got my butt out the door relatively early and just ran by feel.
It was what I call a bell curve run: started out slow and easy, slowed down from there, then on the last mile speeded up a tiny bit faster than the first mile. There was a really nice breeze going, and that helped tremendously.
Tuesday Intention: recover
Easy two mile recovery run. Ran in a cool-ish drizzle. Yes, we have everyone’s rain, apparently. Yes, it was significantly faster than the previous day. It was only about 10 degrees cooler when I started — much later than the previous day — but so much cooler. It was also forecast to basically stay at those temps the rest of the day — 30 degrees cooler than the previous day’s high temperature. Weather Whiplash, indeed.
Friday Intention: stay the course
I didn’t really have a plan, but with another heatwave headed towards us, I decided to take advantage of still cool-ish weather and see what my body wanted to do. Not quite sure it really wanted to run 8 miles, and the pace was all over the place, but I got it done. No desire to go longer, and probably will be dropping back down with heat and humidity dropping in.
Saturday Intention: recover
The thermostat’s going up. Out for a short walk with Bandit, who is really feeling any heat these days — so lovely, breezy, and cloudy. Then a snack, quick change, and out for my nice & slow recovery run. Thank goodness I had to the foresight to bring water, which I normally don’t do because it’s only 2 miles. The sun was out, and while it certainly wasn’t unbearable, I needed that water — and probably more!
Favorites of the week
We had a really nice daytrip to Lenox, Ma this week. We stopped at a small preserve first, which truly was a walk in the woods. There are more difficult paths there, but it’s always a tradeoff finding the right length/difficulty for us all. Then an al fresco lunch, at an area we’ve been to a few times before — but for the first time we discovered there’s trails from the back of there, too!
So we took a steeper, but shorter hike, before I went to buy chocolate. I have now got some more trails bookmarked to explore in Lenox for a return trip someday. I also found some gardens that look amazing — but suspect that Bandit might not be welcome there. I’ll find out though!
While there were no big deals on Amazon Prime for us, there were plenty of smaller deals, and the packages are slowly rolling in. I often take the longer delivery to get digital credits when they’re offered — and then have a hard time deciding which kindle book of my very long wish list I want to apply them to!
I also had a friend come over for a chat in the backyard yesterday, and we did some Yoga together, too. Fun!

I didn’t buy anything on Prime Day! But my son did–he got all kinds of things for his dog, lol.
We got so much rain this week–I think we are out of the drought. The weather is just ridiculous this year.

Don’t have Amazon Prime. Trying to hold back the buying since our house is in need of sprucing up.
No big getaways planned beside a day trip to NYBG and NYC/Hamptons in August. Maybe a hike here and there.
Fitness? Last week at home so we’ll see. but you know how I love my running friends so I’m glad for evening and weekend opportunities to be with them.

We don’t have any trips planned yet but I’m hoping to do some small day trips this summer on some of the days that we are off. Just need to get them planned! I didn’t specially buy anything for Prime day, but there was something I needed that happened to be on sale so it worked out that I bought it that day (it wasn’t anything exciting..maybe diapers? lol)

A lot of my purchases were things like supplements. The fire stick was super cheap.

I didn’t even look at Amazon on Prime Day. Oh well. We’d wanted to go to Banff this summer but that’s not happening since Canada isn’t open to foreigners. The dates just aren’t working for any summer trip really so I suppose our trip will be to Atlanta for the return to college.

We still don’t want to fly but it’s been a very long time since we’ve seen my MIL.
We are in the market for a new tv, but Mr. Judy didn’t find a great deal. I’m not in a rush — better to take time with a purchase that hopefully lasts a long time.

Ha, with my husband, me and my son all ordering from amazon we can’t keep it straight. Packages are constantly appearing at the door and half the time we can’t even remember who ordered what.
We’re leaving for Austin in a little over a week, and although I can’t call it an “escape” exactly (we’ll be going from one hot, humid place to another) I’m looking forward to it! Like you, July 4th really snuck up on me. People around here are already setting off fireworks and for a second I can’t figure out why, then remember it’s only a week away!

Well, we used to go from Austin to Vegas. Thankfully hot & humid to VERY hot & dry. We even went to Vegas in Summer!
Although I know Austin’s changed a lot since we moved, it’s still a cool city!

I was sad when the humidity and heat came back with a vengeance this weekend since the weather was pretty great from Tuesday-Friday.
The 4th of July really snuck up on me too. I can’t believe that it’s next weekend – craziness.
I usually opt for the longer delivery times with Amazon for the digital credits that I put toward downloading new songs. Also I feel like maybe it gives the delivery people a break since there’s no “rush” for 2 day Prime shipping.

Lenox Mass is a gorgeous area for sure. it’s fun to get out on little day trips. We got a few little things on Amazon prime day but nothing too exciting. July 4th did kind of sneak up this year. It is always one of the hottest days for us too. Not ready for all the humidity for the next 2 months

Weather Whiplash is so true! Looking at the upcoming forecast it seems that summer is finally settling in to stay.
No great Prime deals for me – my son did get a great pair of noise-canceling headphones for half price!
Lenox is a lovely spot – perfect for a day trip!

Honestly, Amazon Prime Day came and went and I didn’t even take a peek. I’m not much of an online shopper, so Amazon anything isn’t typically on my radar. Weather Whiplash describes things perfectly LOL It was so unseasonably cold earlier in the week here…

I had been putting off buying a new irrigation controller and wouldn’t you know, the one that we were considering was on sale during Amazon Prime so I finally ordered it. Sometimes procrastination does pay. 😉

We don’t have any trip planned because we are busy with our 4 grandsons (Alessandro was born one week ago).

I saw all the amazing deals, particularly on Garmins for Prime Day, but I don’t need one right now! Glad you found some deals. We are heading to my husband’s family cabin again for the 4th. Nothing farther than that now that Idaho is done! Looking forward to more getaways though…

I don’t know what’s going on with our weather but it’s crazy too. Hurricane season is here and we’ve got all kind of tropical systems going on. Ugh.

That’s a BIG Amazon truck. We get the Amazon vans. I didn’t get anything on Prime Day and only a few days later realized I should have looked for deals on computer monitors. Oh, well. Nice on the 8 miler!

That particular Amazon truck was not delivering to us. We often got the white vans with no logo, but on Prime day we did get an actual Prime van.
I didn’t really have a list, but I just went looking for a few things and also went to see if some things from my very long wish list were on sale.
I did get a new cork Yoga mat which was on the wish list and a bit of a deal; so far I really like it!

I was hoping to find a Garmin watch and I didn’t. Well, there were a few on sale but not the one I wanted. Must have been a sign for me not to get it. 🙂 That is a cute picture of you taking pictures!

I didn’t pay attention to any of the deals on Amazon because I’m not a Prime member. But I keep buying enough things that we never know which family member’s stuff is arriving from Amazon this week! I do have a big summer trip coming up in a few weeks. It’s “game on”, time to plan for me!! It’s another camping trip out West.
