I’ve got a few snowfessions to share with you and some musings on Spring. As always, grateful to Coco and Deborah, for hosting us, even though we still need our hot beverages lately!
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d ask you if you’ve noticed all the birds chirping lately. I noticed at the beginning of February! Have they always come back that early? Do they chirp more as the days get longer? I’ve yet to see a Robin (except I did a couple of weeks ago — before the snow).

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you Bandit went out 3 times in 3 hours during our ice storm in February. This dog will do pretty much anything for treats — such a difference from when we adopted him and he wouldn’t eat anything.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you Mr. Judy was trying to help me empty out the groceries after one recent trip to the store. There were two cookies in the bag. At first I seriously thought the cashier had put them in there. Slowly I remembered I did buy them — although apparently I’d completely forgotten them and left them in the bag for 2 weeks! We ate them and they were still good (which is a bit scary).
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you on a recent trip I saw a car on the side of the road at Olana, which is nothing new. I assumed it was one of the people out walking a dog. As I walked back up the hill (and was on the same side of the car), I saw it was a man sitting in his car, painting a landscape. That’s a serious artist!
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I find it ironic in the 5 1/2 years my mom has lived in her apartment, I don’t remember ever having to clear snow from the car. This Winter has been light on snow, yet I had to do it twice. Or maybe I’ve done it in the past and just wiped it from my memory.
Would you eat those cookies? They were wrapped in parchment paper!
Does the return of birds seem early to you?
If yes, do you think that’s a good sign?

This made me remember that because I work from home I do not have to clean my car off at work. But I did my long run in the snow a few weeks ago and luckily Stan had I a snow brush. I did not. Lol.
Of course eat that cookie. We eat food with expired dates all the time. And we’re still alive. Of course only if they smell and taste good.
I love birds in Fla and we have many bird feeders at home but never notice them in the run. So have no idea when they arrive. I just wish it would warm up.

I had to clean off the car the first time with paper towels. Luckily much less snow this time! That would never have worked.

LOL on the cookies, and LOL that you ate them — not sure if it’s good or bad that they still tasted good!

They were chocolate covered Oreos. Things that don’t go bad are always scary but they were still tasty!

Just this past week have I started hearing the birds singing and chirping. I have not spotted any robins yet, though others have seen them locally. They always seem to elude me!

Others say they saw Robins much earlier than me but then again they don’t live in the same town as me. I haven’t seen another but that may have more to do with the recent snow!

You had to eat the cookies- it’s bad to waste food! : )
I wish I were a serious bird person- that way I could tell you if the birds are leaving Florida early. But I have no clue. I would say if it seems early to you, it’s a sign that you’ll have an early spring!

I really don’t know much about birds, either. Not so sure about the early Spring with single digits this morning & snow on the ground!

Ha on the cookies! No I definitely would not have eaten them after 2 weeks but glad to know they were ok! I have noticed all the birds chirping lately and the green popping up

We’re snow covered again but most (or all) should melt this weekend. It’s damn cold today, though!

I’ve definitely seen robins here VERY early in the year. So early I even wondered if they ever left. I suppose it’s a good sign of mild weather to come! I would so beat eating those cookies!

The weird thing about the cookies is that I’d completely forgotten buying them!

So hold up.. you have yet to see a robin but you saw a robin? LOL. I heard some singing this morning when I was running today. As long as the cookies tasted good, I wouldn’t care about them being ole!

When I originally wrote the post, I hadn’t yet seen a Robin — but much of the time I’m writing posts ahead of time. So between the time I first wrote that & posted it I’d seen my first, as I’d shared on FB. Clear as mud, right?

I would have taken a few bites of the cookie and then determined whether to eat them or not. We have eaten food past its expiration date and nothing bad has happened. 🙂

It was a chocolate covered oreo. Apparently the chocolate covering kept it fresh. 😊

haha, I’m glad the cookies were still good! I probably would’ve eaten them too (they still look really good…).
(I just saw that it was a chocolate-covered Oreo and will say that I did just that last month — they tasted completely normal and I was also a little disturbed but…at least they were tasty!)

That’s too funny that you had the same experience! I was just shocked that I forgot about them completely!
