I’m joining Coco and Deborah and sharing the entertaining antics of “wildlife” mostly in our backyard.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I had my very first bear sighting (from the comfort of my car). We’ve been so many places that are known for bears, and never seen one in the wild. Coming home from my mom’s last month there was a medium sized bear (not a cub, though) in the middle of the road. It quickly trotted off into the woods (before I could even think to take a photo).
For years I didn’t even know they had bears there, but I’ve known a few years now. Happy I’ve yet to see one on my walks — but they come right onto the road I walk on, I hear.
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you a bunny “joined” my Yoga practice one day. I was filming on the platform outside and this bunny just settled in for a good chowdown on clover not too far away. They’re getting bolder!

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d you I recently let Bandit out and there was another bunny sitting near my Yoga platform. Bandit, oblivious to it, first went into the kennel. The bunny just hunkered down lower. Next Bandit walked out into the yard, relatively near the bunny, still oblivious. The bunny crouched even lower. Bandit trotted back in none the wiser.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I am also entertained by the Carolina Wren pair that comes back to nest under our deck year after year. We never seem to see the babies, but man, for a little bird they sure are noisy!
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you Bandit and I were home alone one day when I heard a big bang. I assumed a bird had flown into the sliding glass doors, but when I investigated I didn’t find anything. When I went downstairs, though, I found the middle of our Kauai photo triptych had fallen. How it just jumped off its hook all by its lonesome I’ve no idea.
Plus it’s a canvas print, so it’s really light. I guess it hit the monitor (which thankfully was unscathed).
Do you enjoy watching wildlife?
Ever seen bear/s in the wild?

I hear weird noises in the house all the time when I am alone and often can’t figure out what they are! I’ve about had it with the deer this year. We saw bears on our Alaska trip and it was surreal and amazing. Would not want to run into one on my own

We did not see bears in AK. Or NC. Or VA, TN . . . . etc. There was one in ME, but I missed it.

It looks like you and I have had some similar experiences this month, between the wildlife and random accidental things in the house! Let’s hope for calmer times…

Yes, I noted the same thing! Weird.

I’m sure you’ve read that there have been a few recent bear sightings in Albany. And also in my neighborhood. I personally have not seen one. And I’m ok with that.
My cat recently has killed baby birds. He ignores the rabbits.
We have some noisy birds. They get be up at 5:30 am.

I’m usually up before 5:30 (but the nests are not near our bedroom).
My cats used to get baby rabbits (and they didn’t roam!). But a full grown one is a challenge for a cat.
Yup, read about the bear sightings here — not the first time either (but so far not near my neighborhood).

Lots of wildlife sightings! I love the story about the bunny (and Bandit’s oblivion, LOL).

I also had a bunny trying to race my car as I was driving out yesterday. Luckily he didn’t run in from if me!

The rabbits are out in force lately! I’m happy when Ozzy does not notice them. We saw bears in Alaska but not around here. Let’s keep it that way. Ha!

Although I’ve never seen one here it’s not unusual to have them around occasionally. Just thankfully not in my neighborhood (so far).
I’ve been seeing a lot of baby bunnies lately too. So cute! I swear rabbits are almost as destructive as deer though!

I’ve never seen a bear in the wild, but when I ran on the trail in Ocala there was a sign warning that there were bears. Doesn’t it seem like Florida would be too hot for bears??? I guess not!
I’m glad Bandit didn’t see the rabbit! Smart bunny, to crouch down like that and remain hidden.

The smart ones live. Although a full grown wild rabbit isn’t easy prey.

We don’t have bunnies in our yard, but we saw one at my son’s place on the 4th. Luckily his cat didn’t notice it!

So many bunnies. . . although they go through cycles, die off, then multiply.

Yup. I’ve seen bears in the wild. I love it! We don’t have bunnies here, but I did see TWO on my vacation this week. It was wonderful.

I saw a bear when I went to Alaska but it was while I was on the train to Seward. That was my first and only time. I see a bunny here and there when I am out on a run.

There are lots of bunnies here. And bears, well not lots, but it happens & happens a lot for people who hike more. Didn’t see them in Alaska, or Asheville, or CO, or Great Smokies . . . You get the idea!

haha, probably a good thing that Bandit didn’t notice the bunny! My dog is vaguely oblivious as long as there’s no movement too.
I saw several bears on a backpacking trip in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park a few years back! One of them was ambling down the trail behind me — we definitely remembered to make noise after that to discourage such surprises, haha.

We went to Sequoia & Yosemite before we got married — so many decades ago. No bears!
My dogs (when they were younger) liked to chase the bunnies. They never caught them. But Bandit killed 3 babies one year & I was not happy with him.
