Well, we’re home now, but I managed not to post while we were in ME (you never know who’s reading!). So not much running this week, but plenty of cross training. I am currently sharing a day by day recap of our adventures on Facebook (follow me here). So many great photos!

I’m joining Kim @ Kimrunsonthefly and Deborah @ Confessionsofamotherrunner, and enjoying the great state of Maine.

Running Update

Sunday Intention: go long
It was a perfect day to run today. It’s not often that I decide to actually go longer than I’d planned on, but today was just too nice. It was a slow one, though — warmer than it’s been, although thankfully not humid at all. I stopped a lot to take photos. A little chafing in an unmentionable place, unfortunately.

Favorites of the week
We couldn’t have ordered up better weather for our getaway. Sunny skies and cool weather almost every day. The only exception was the first travel day which was hot.
Our friends both have amazing, and very different homes. So grateful that they welcomed us to their little slices of heaven.

I had met Karen @ Runningfifty & her husband at my last half in Savannah for a hot (literal) minute. She had mostly stopped blogging, although had recently posted here and there. We reconnected and when I told her we were going to ME to visit friends, she said we should get together. And then invited us to stay with her for one night!
Karen is a wonderful host and fed us amazing food — and her two dogs, Cherry & Maggie — were just adorable (although 5 times the size of Bandit).
ICYMI: Welcome the new moon, think about what you need to release (while releasing your low bark & hips), and set some intentions for June. Join me here. I share some things you might try around the new moon here.
Coming up on Tuesday & Friday: Tuesday I’m wrapping up May and on Friday it’s time to catch up with your hot beverage of choice.
Your pictures from ME have been beautiful! What a nice place to visit–and even better to live!

Oh no, I have ZERO desire to live there. But it is a great place to visit! Especially when once you get there, your hosts drive you around. 🙂

You got lucky with the weather.
Looking forward to ME in October but hope the gas prices go down by then.
But I thought today was super humid (and so did all the runners.) Definitely not a good day for running (at least where we were.) Still glad I am able to race.

You travel to FL, , so you know what humidity is like. I didn’t think it was at all humid. Spent a fair amount of time outside. Even tomorrow, while warmer, isn’t supposed to be too humid.

Maybe it feels more humid when you are racing 10 miles. I wasn’t alone complaining.

Looks and sounds like a great getaway! I have friends who vacation in Maine almost every year. We will have to visit them next time.

Well, that’s a REALLY long drive for you but you guys don’t seem to mind driving as much as we do. It was 7 hours for us, but we also broke it up into a couple of days going & coming home.

your photos are stunning. My BIL used to live in Maine and we visited them once. It’s amazing in the summer, but not so much in the winter. You wouldn’t want to live there! But it sounds like the perfect place to visit right now.

I lived in VT. Nope, don’t want to live in ME for a variety of reasons but great place to vacation. The ocean does actually moderate temps a lot.

It was really nice to spend more time with Karen. Although there are far too many Karens in our lives & it gets really confusing at times!

Absolutely amazing! One of my favorite vacations was in Maine and I hope we can go back some day.
I’m coming back to yoga. My hips and legs are soooo tight.
