This week started out great. I’ve been feeling and recovering better than I have been in weeks. I went to bed Tuesday night feeling fine, and woke up a few hours later feeling not fine at all — luckily, that only seemed to last a day. Very weird!

I’m joining Kim @ Kimrunsonthefly and Deborah @ Confessionsofamotherrunner and almost at the finish line of 2024!

Running Update
Monday intention: endurance run
This week it was torrential rain that kept me on the treadmill. I had a good run, and I recovered really well.

Saturday intention: socialize
Met up with my friend again for a short run. She got to test out her running outfit for her upcoming trip to Norway, where she hopes to see the Northern lights (see painting below). It was quite cold but thankfully not windy and her outfit mostly worked well (plus she knew what changes she needed to make).

Favorites of the week
So the week started out well and ended well and I wasn’t sick for long at all (and had one negative COVID test). I also wasn’t feeling horrible, so I got a lot of work done on projects you can do while resting.
We were going to meet with a new pet sitter and potentially go to my mom for Christmas (remember, we’re Jewish, but they have a holiday meal), but I had to bow out of both — the meeting was the day I was sick. I feel really guilty about not going to my mom, but now we didn’t have someone to leave Bandit with, we can’t leave him for hours while we eat (or even a short time), and I just didn’t feel like making the trip on my own.

May everyone have a peaceful, joyful holiday filled with family and loved ones (even furry ones!)

ICYMI: This Yin Yoga flow is great if you have about 20 minutes to take a little break; strengthen your hips — click here for the video (live at 8 am).
Coming up next Week: WRD. Runfessions.
Glad you are feeling better. Everyone seems to be getting sick again this season. Hope to make it through unscathed! That is a really pretty platter-she is very talented. Hope you have a peaceful week as well

Yes, she is talented — learned from the best (her mother). It seems to have been a 24 hour bug & for that I’m grateful!

She’s very talented. She also has limited mobility (she has had MS for around 30 years — selling her work helps to support that expense).

It is definitely the season so feel run down and/or sick! Glad your “illness” was very short lived. That’s a gorgeous plate and your painting is beautiful! I actually saw the Northern Lights many years ago in this area!

We do get the Northern lights on occasion but I’ve never seen them. I had a friend come up to Lake George for a photography class a few years back. She got lovely photos.

Glad whatever you had was short-lived and you’re feeling better!
We learned, too late, that there was a spectacular Northern Lights display one night on Skyline Drive. It wasn’t until a few days later when we saw the pictures on IG that we were aware of it. Had we known, I’m still not sure we would have driven that far to “hopefully” see them.
Our furry friend and his humans are visiting this week!

Enjoy the kids (and Pablo). It can be hard to just nature, can’t it?

A lot of people came down with the flu after the big wedding last weekend. Thankfully, I didn’t have any issues, but my friend’s 91-yr old mom (the grandma of the bride) didn’t fare so well. She’s in the hospital, now also with Covid…UGH! I’m glad to hear you bounced back from whatever you had. All that rain…crazy you’ve had so much and we’ve had zilch!

Oh, I hope the lovely grandmother recovers soon! The amount of rain we had this year seems like it was insane, but when I looked for total rainfall in 2023 it seemed to be all over the place. I can tell you our waterfalls are roaring right now anyway! No droughts here.

I’m washing my hands and masking at work–trying to avoid getting sick. I felt a little ill yesterday, but I blame that 12 days of Christmas workout, lol. Glad you’re feeling better.
So many talented people in your family!

The cousin who does ceramics is from my husband’s side, which is very artistic. I’m kind of a ringer in my family, the joke is I was adopted (I’m not), but I did have an aunt who was a talented artist.

Yes, everyone is getting sick now. My sister’s family gather was canceled because so many people have Covid. I’m glad whatever you had was short-lived.
I think we all need a little peace after this chaotic month. Wishing you, Bandit, Mr. Judy and your mom a joyful day!

I hope your day was joyful, filled with family (and pain free!). I’m sorry about your sister’s gathering. The irony is I’d been to the dr for my annual a few days before I got sick. Should have worn a mask!

We spent a lot of time searching for the Northern Lights last Christmas in Finland, and only just barely saw them. But I have seen them in Minnesota.
Glad your sickness was short lived. Hopefully the dog sitter will work out for a future visit!

Im so sorry you were sick and couldn’t go, but I’m glad you’re feeling better. That platter is beautiful, and what a gorgeous vessel for that sushi! Yum!
