No Gaiter, Either!
A date was set for the burial. I can do the April half, if I want. But there’s still some other stuff going on in my life that means it’s still in limbo. You’ll have to stay tuned to see how it all turns out.
Joining Kim @ Kimrunsonthefly and Deborah @ Confessionsofamotherrunner and training for a half I may never run.
And linking up with Jenn @ Runswithpugs, Brandi @ Funnerrunner, Anna Louise @ Graciouswarriorprincess, Briana @ Matsmilesmedals, Meghan @ Meghanonthemove, and Elizabeth @ Trainwithbainfor RIOTS(running is our therapy)

Running Update
My Hill repeats hill — it’s not that bad a hill, but multiple times gets tiring
Wednesday
The sun was partly shining, but man it was windy and cold! Which probably explains why I thought I was slow in the beginning, but actually was running at a good pace for me. Added a mile. Really didn’t want to get out there, and while I can’t say I enjoyed this run, I didn’t regret it either.
Friday
Today was actually beautiful. Sunny, but cold. If I didn’t have to walk the dogs and have a lot to do, I would absolutely have run outside. I knew I’d be getting outside later with the dogs. The treadmill was a time saver in the morning. I had intended to try for 4 miles progressive — and I tried — but I was just not feeling that last mile so I called it good at 3.5 miles.

Sunday
This run was on the slow side — maybe I do run faster when it’s colder — but my God, that sure felt good. 40s, sunny, no wind. It’s the first run I’ve actually wanted to get outside and do in weeks. About 90% of it was in the snow & ice-free park, too.

Favorites of the week
This is the second pair of Newtons Mr. Judy has ordered for me on Ebay. From England! Yes, the second time my running shoes came from England. I’m happy that Ebay makes that possible.

I just happened to catch the first bulbs trying to shoot up on yesterday’s dogwalk. It feels early — but definitely makes me happy! Yay for an early Spring (even if we’re looking at Wintry mix next week).
Have you seen any bulbs? Are any bulbs blooming?
Will you be happy for an early Spring?
Do you buy running shoes because of the pattern/color? I have to admit that I just ordered a different brand, for easy days, with a floral bottom. I ordered them because they were on sale — and yes, cute — but I’ve never worn that particular model so we’ll see.

We actually saw quite a few flowers starting to pop up yesterday on our run. Spring is definitely coming! Love the purple shoes enjoy them. Thanks for linking up and have a great week ahead

Signs of spring! I love it. Glad you got outside for a lovely sounding day for a run!

Seriously, I absolutely needed that run today. Running was getting to be a chore and today it was a pleasure!

No signs of spring here yet! Yesterday and today were the first days we’ve had that had that ‘spring smell’ to the air. Still a lot of ice and snow piles. We’re supposed to get a snowstorm midweek. Doesn’t Mother Nature know I have a trail race in Florida in 2 weeks? :p

It was frigidly cold toward the second half of the week, but it warmed up nicely today & supposedly tomorrow. Then rain next week, maybe some wintry mix, but hopefully no big snowstorms.
MN laughs at our plans often. 😦

Today and yesterday were beautiful even in Montreal. Didn’t get much running in but did a lot of walking.
I’m pretty careful of my shoes and keep returning them.

I can definitely return the shoes at no cost if they don’t work for me. Brooks has a generous return policy!

I go to Fleet Feet. 60 days for them. Usually 30 for the other companies. I prefer to try them on in the store too.

Those purple shoes are so cool! I love them. I feel your pain when you were writing about the wind on your Wednesday run. Hubs and I did a long run on Saturday – an out-and-back. The first part of the run was with a tailwind. The last part of the run featured a headwind. Ugh! It was awful.

Running into a headwind — especially on the second half — is not fun. At all. You guys are tough!

Oooooh, I love those pretty purple shoes! My last pair of Brooks Adrenalines (bought early last year) were the grey ones (that still have the timing tag LOL). Definitely not a pretty pair of shoes, but I got them for a great deal and knew (after three other pairs of the same model) they’d be a good fit. But still…I couldn’t help wishing they were just a little bit brighter and more colorful LOL There are ZERO signs of Spring here, except for the sand and mud everywhere on most of the sidewalks. It could be worse, right?

I will buy any color for the right shoe, but agree, I always get jealous of people’s cute shoes.
My guess is your bulbs are probably just beginning to emerge like ours. Blink & you’ll miss it.

We’ve had such a mild winter, with some random super cold days. Some of our ground cover plants are in full bloom (purple flowers) and daffodills are several inches high. I’m sure my hips could use 40 min of strecthing — will have to give it a try.

Ours has been mild, too. Which doesn’t mean it has been cold, gray — and a lot more ice than normal. But yesterday the park was 99.9% ice free & I was a happy runner.

We have had jonquils in full bloom in our neighborhood since last Tuesday – at least that was the first time I noticed them. February 11th is crazy early for where I live.
Yay for Mr. Judy finding your shoes for you again on eBay, and I love the purple and green combo!

I was just happy he found me shoes. 🙂 He is actually always looking for them for me!
Someday I’m gonna live somewhere warmer again . . . even mild winters just do a number on me.

Love the purple shoes! I actually came across the first shoots of some daffs the other day. Seems way too early to me but I’ll take it!

I agree it seems super early for bulbs — but flowers make everything better, right?

I love that you are still able to get your Newton sneakers online, even if they are coming from another country!
We’ve had a very weird Winter here. Barely any snow, but it has been super cold for days at a time. I have a feeling that Spring is going to come very early.

I love that I’m still able to get the Newtons at a decent price from Ebay, too!
We have actually had a normal amount of snow, but that’s because of the big storm at the beginning of December. The bad Winter the Almanac called for thankfully didn’t materialize.

That hill! It looks perfect for repeats! I wish I had one like that here.
I can never get used to the topsy-turvy seasons in South Africa. Here, they are talking about how autumn is around the corner… feels so strange.
Have a great start in the new week!

I can’t imagine living in the southern hemisphere either — but it’s so beautiful there, it’s worth it!

I like those shoes and I buy any of mine that I get online from sportsshoes.com! Well done for good solid runs and I envy you that no wind.

Oh, that is too funny that you buy from sportshoes too — now we really are sole sisters. 🙂
It is rare that we don’t have wind. I don’t remember it being so windy when I was growing up, but of course I didn’t run then.

I love seeing signs of Spring toward the end of Winter. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel! I’ve definitely noticed some shoots poking through the ground in our neighborhood.

This Winter was so mild (well, mostly), but it’s still difficult for me to weather.

We don’t have too many bulbs here, I don’t think, but the azaleas are starting to bloom, which brightens things when the days are gray. I wish we had tulips and daffodils. They are so beautiful.
I won’t buy shoes I can’t wear, even if I swoon over the pattern (i’m looking at you, Dunkin Donuts Kinvaras), but I will try to get my models of shoes in awesome colors and styles. I’m about to get some new shoes, so I’m excited about that.

My guess is the bulbs need the cold weather. So don’t wish too hard!
I’m usually much more about the $$ than the color, because running shoes are so damn expensive & I probably go through 3-4 pairs a year. 😦

I’m with you – I buy whichever shoe color is on sale. Recently I’ve been lucky with getting colors I like, but I used to have shoes with orange contrast that matched nothing in my wardrobe.

I have a couple of pairs of orange shoes! Not my fav color, but at least it makes you stand out. 🙂

sorry to hear there is still “other stuff” going on. you got some good workouts in though and that always helps right? and what are newtons? curious! love the color!
we have bulbs, in fact we have flowers! mother nature is messed up here.

The Newtons are a brand of running shoe — it’s a really small company here in the States, the shoes are even more expensive than most running shoes, and if you don’t buy them right away they’re hard to get. Unfortunately I really love my Newtons!

Those are pretty shoes! I like the color! I admit that sometimes I do buy shoes because of the color but it has to be shoes that I will wear. I won’t buy them just because I like the color. I might have missed it in a previous post but why is the burial so late?

The burial date is complicated. My brother lives in CA, so we wanted to do it at a time when snow was unlikely. Originally that was going to fall on the date I wanted to run the half (and then I think they had another conflict).
Anyway, long story short, it was trying to accommodate about 10 people’s schedules and miss the really bad weather.
