Finally Spring has arrived! Although in typical Northeast fashion, it looks like we’re going to skip right over Spring and go into Summer. I am not complaining about that at all!

Running Update

Thursday
Body wanted lots of extra rest again this week. The good news is that after all that rest, my runs felt better than any of last week’s runs. Maybe that was also because I decided to bring back structured run/walk intervals as I continue to struggle|work on nasal breathing. The weather was again perfection, so worth the wait!

Sunday
Running in skirt. Living in a skirt. I’ve missed that! Cloudy, but great running weather. This run felt hard at times, but that may have been due to the incessant hills. I did both roads that lay on either side of my neighborhood, and they’re both hilly. I think run/walk is the way to go for now.

Favorites of the week
I don’t Zoom as much as a lot of people — it’s totally a verb now, right? There was more zooming for me this week than usual. My brother’s 60th birthday call (we did get my Mom on it), blogger Zoom, the Yoga Zoom with friends last weekend. I did miss the Zoom with my local running friends, but what can I say? Evening doesn’t work well for me and I was just especially tired this week.
I made an ecard for my brother’s 60th with a collage of family, too (it was my third in about a week!) but it was fun.

There’s been quite a bit of deck Yoga, which has been lovely, especially with the rainbow chimes chiming below me.
Other than that, not a whole lot going on. Although I may be teaching my private Yoga student again in the near future — outside in my backyard. Let’s hope I can find all the dog poop. 🙂
Is it Spring or Summer where you live (or worse, not even Spring yet)?
Any Memorial Day plans? Not here. Unless we can work out the bathroom situation going to my Moms.
Do you think your furkids will be upset when things get back to normal? Although we’ve both gone out, not at the same time and not as often. I had already said to Mr. Judy that we’ll have to recondition them to us being gone longer eventually.
Coming up on Tuesday: What I can’t wait to experience at a real race (which probably isn’t going to happen for me this year). Friday I’ll talk about the pros of running near to home. Gotta try to stay positive here! Don’t forget that Skirt Sports is selling off its inventory, so check out the sale here.
I also missed the Zoom class yesterday due to an unexpected nap. Hopefully I can make the next one – I do really enjoy chatting with all of you 🙂

Hey, naps are great too! I’m usually feeding the dogs & starting dinner around that time (yes, we’re both a thousand years old) so no napping for me. I’m not much of a napper anyway.

Great to see you yesterday 😉 I’m looking forward to taking my HIIT workouts outside soon…just want an itsy bit of more “early” daylight.

This is the first year I’ve really done Yoga on my deck. Seriously, what the heck was I waiting for?
Although the fact that Mr. Judy recently put up a second umbrella might be why I’m doing it more often.

I didn’t realize zoom is a verb now – but makes total sense, haha.
I love your deck yoga – it’s so peaceful with the birds and the green background.
I agree, a bit of rest works wonders on the running form!

Well, sometimes there are people mowing their lawns, dogs barking, airplanes flying over while out on the deck too. It’s hit or miss. Mr. Judy has a new project he’s working on to help me with outdoor Yoga. 🙂
I didn’t want to take that many rest days really, but I just needed them. Don’t know why.

We’ve been lucky and have had a really nice spring. We’re just starting to get bits of warmer summer weather but it’s only been for a day or two at a time. I’ve been loving it!
I have 2 dogs and the younger one will be sad when I go back to work. The other one is more like a cat and will probably not even notice I’m not working from home anymore!

Spring? What’s that? Seriously, we had a nice day here & there, but mostly it was unseasonably cold & continued to snow into May! Not much, but still, that’s just not right.
Bandit has more separation anxiety than Lola, but both of them love having their pack all together.

Zoom is definitely a verb now 🙂
Your deck yoga is so lovely!
With my Covid running streak, I haven’t rested as much as I probably should, but I recognize how valuable it is..I swear 🙂

As long as you feel good, it’s all good. Although sometimes it does sneak up on you.

It is a verb. 🙂 I like it cause it keeps me in touch with friends and family members. Who knows when it will be the next time I will see them. Honestly Memorial Day is just another day for us here. This year it won’t be any different. Hopefully it will be warm enough to go out in the balcony. My mother and I like going there to enjoy the nice weather and listen to music.

Yup, we were going to bury my dad in a couple of weeks. That’s not happening for multiple reasons, not the least of which is my brother’s in CA (along with almost his entire family). Not sure when it’s going to happen, but he’s not going anywhere!

Oh no! Sorry to hear that is still pending.

It’s definitely a verb! I don’t Zoom much either. Zoom church with my brother-in-law (husband’s oldest brother) who frequently leads services at his church in Missouri. They can’t go and it’s a good way to get ALL the family together. I did a Zoom surprise birthday party a couple weeks ago. It was horribly awkward, especially when we all tried to sing Happy Birthday and then had to do it again because the birthday girl’s daughter didn’t have the speaker on. *face/palm* It’s okay, though. It was nice to see their faces! The birthday girl was my piano teacher when I was younger and I grew up with her daughters. 🙂
We’re running in stages of winter and then summer. We might have some spring next week! lol

Oh no about singing Happy Birthday! Yes, we did that for me brother, too. let’s just say it was “special”. I’m about the only one in the entire group that can sing. 🙂
I think looking at it next week will be mostly Summer for us. And I was serious — I’m totally ok with that!
Although the runs & dogwalks are going to have to shift around timewise now.

I thought Cocoa would have a nervous breakdown when I went back to work but she’s done ok so far. She sleeps a lot during the day anyways. You just never know!

Lola sleeps a lot too. She’s old. But then she twerks. It’s so funny!
Bandit sleeps a lot too, but he’s the anxious one. Although Lola has gotten kinda needy, always needing to be near us.
Of course I’m not going back to any job. 🙂

Lots of Zoom over here too. Sometimes taking off from running does help improve our running. I have been walking a lot on my runs. I should probably just bring back the structured intervals as well. We went straight to summer this week!

I was just walking when I felt like it, but I keep a better pace actually when it’s structured intervals. Which isn’t to say I don’t ever take an extra walk break . . .
The hills aren’t really killer, but . .. . hills.

It sounds like your rest week paid off, but hills always are hard. I’ve had more and more video calls for work, which means I need to remember to put on some makeup and not wear a hoodie!

LOL, I’d like to see you in a hoodie! I put some earrings on for the first time in forever yesterday cause if I don’t the holes are gonna close up!

I’m actually running more. Just feel like being outdoors. Not fast and walking a lot. But it works with no races.
Plan to be boating next weekend. This weekend we could have been but I wanted to hike and put in a perennial garden.
Pandemic boating should be interesting.

I’m doing a lot of Yoga outdoors.
I’m guessing what happens at the lake will stay at the lake.

We went from frost to 80 here this week so I’d say spring has finally sprung. I could do without the severe thunderstorms though. Ozzy seems to do just fine when he’s home alone, which is a total blessing. No Memorial Day plans. Cannot believe that’s sneaking up on us already!

We did have a severe thunderstorm on Friday, but it was a quickie.
I attract needy dogs! Although since we both haven’t been out in forever, they also haven’t had kongs in forever. They do love their kongs. 🙂

Springmer, much like you. I really can’t complain about summer in late May, but I’m not ready for it without a proper spring.
So glad you got your mom on zoom, and so fun to se eyou yesterday. Zoom is totally a word

Springmer — haven’t heard that one! it’s pretty much what’s happened the last few years, I am fine with Summer moving in. Of course talk to me in a month . . .
It was a lot of work getting my mom on that call. Now she’s at least open to trying again.
I thought I was all set to do it outside Saturday. I just don’t think our wifi is strong enough out there. Weird, I can play YT videos . . .

I didnt run until Thursday last week either and my body appreciated the break. It also meant running in better weather than earlier in the week!

Lovely to see you on the Zoom – it’s the only one I do, though I have a video chat with two good friends, one once a week when we would be having a coffee, the other about every 2 weeks. Love the idea of yoga in the back yard. Well, not in ours, overlooked by roofers and builders, but in general!

We live behind a now closed car dealer, but it seems to have turned into a truck resting spot now. But there’s a fence and a row of pine trees.
By myself I mostly do Yoga on our raised deck — we have 2 umbrellas on it now, so I can be shaded, because I do try to be careful about not too much sun exposure.
Today is rainy though, no outside Yoga today.

I’m sorry I had to miss our Zoom date on Saturday afternoon. It’s been just over a week since we last Zoomed during happy hour with friends, and yes, it’s totally a verb now. I’m glad your mom was able to hope on the call during your brother’s birthday celebration!
I laughed when you said that you hope you can find all of the dog poop before your yoga student arrives. Having your nose near a little pile of the stuff would give a whole new meaning to downward facing dog. 😉
Sadly, we had to cancel our huge Memorial Day weekend barbecue that we host every year. It will be the first time in over ten years that we won’t be hosting. Our kids are coming over so at least the six of us (and Pablo) can have a nice afternoon.

True about down dog. I’m good about keeping the lawn picked up, but let’s just say Bandit likes to spread the love. Chester was better at keeping to a smaller area.
I’m sorry you’ll be missing all your friends this weekend, but having the kids should definitely help make up for it!

Sadly all of our usual Memorial Day weekend plans have gone out the window. I am looking forward to having next Monday off from work though.
Nice seeing you on the Zoom call 🙂

The deck Yoga has been totally awesome. So relaxing. It really helps that we have two umbrellas on the deck now (I try to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible).
We never did much on memorial day. Usually we went to my parents, so it was always tiring. Might still do that, but looking into the logistics of it still.

Mr. PugRunner and a few of the neighbor guys want to host some kind of cook off for Memorial Day. We can set it up in our street/driveways and it will be just grand. I’ll be stuck doing sides and desserts, but I don’t mind. We can have some beers and cocktails and all will be well.

Nothing wrong with desserts in my book. 🙂 Sounds like a fun time! Our neighborhood isn’t that tight knit.
At least it looks like it’ll finally be a lovely week here!

I always enjoy the Zoom chats! I really don’t Zoom very often and now I’m wishing I had a few more to look forward to. Deck yoga sounds really nice! I can’t wait for it to stay consistently warm around here.

I think we’ve turned the corner & Spring/Summer is here to stay. Of course sometimes there’ll still be unseasonably cool days, but at least we’re getting some sunshine & can get outside without being all bundled up!
