Thanks, Coco and Deborah, I’m sitting here with my hot chocolate (whether it’s cold or hot outside!) and I am musing on just how much hair actually weighs, and whether or not I’ve found the perfect exercise to make my Achilles happy.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you Albie seems to have gotten camera shy. He still comes to visit some days, but every time Mr. Judy has tried to take photos, he quickly runs away. Some of the birds in ME, though — they were posing for us!
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you a while back I went on the hunt for a decaf peppermint green tea. I’d managed to buy enough of the Trader Joes version — or so I thought, but eventually I knew I wouldn’t quite make it until they were back in the store (it’s a seasonal item). I finally found what seemed like a similar tea here (Amazon Affiliate link).
When I finally decided to try it, I realized it wasn’t just similar, it was the same tea in different packaging.
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you when I created my 3 poses to activate your glutes video (here, ICYMI), I did monster walks for the first time in a very long time — along with two other exercises. The next day I did my 6 mile long run. While my ankle has been pretty good, it often aches randomly — and not so randomly at the start of a run. No ache. Coincidence?
On the other hand, with a week off running while we were in ME (but lots of walking and some hiking), my Achilles seemed completely happy. I don’t plan to give up running though!

There were many more after this photo. . . we gave some to a neighbor but I’m eating them now!
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you the universe was taunting me before my Colonscopy. My tomatoes started to ripen just when I couldn’t eat them. Those Mezcla protein bars I reviewed here? I’d ordered more after the first two I tried. They also arrived just as I couldn’t eat them!

You know, this photo is so much better than my HS graduation photo! Thanks to Mr. Judy & my iPhone
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I wonder just how much hair weighs. Yes, I finally got my hair cut in July, in case you missed that! I don’t always track my weight, but I was on the pre-Colonscopy diet and wondered about it. One day I’d suddenly lost a couple of pounds. It stayed that way the whole week, too.
Suddenly it occurred to me that that 2 pound loss followed my hair cut. My hair was very long, but seriously, I don’t believe that it weighed 2 pounds. If only losing weight was that easy maybe I’d shave my head (just joking)!
Do you feel lighter after a hair cut?
Are you surprised that two different places sell the same tea, with different packaging?
What is your go-to miracle exercise?

Hah, my hair is so short and fine, it probably barely weighs an ounce. Monster walks were part of my PT program but my Achilles didn’t care. Interesting on the tea. Is it usually TJ’s branded? I guess they buy it for their own brand?

I don’t know which came first on the tea. People do sell it on Amazon (the TJ version) for outrageous prices — of course they’re not supposed to.
My hair is thick & there was definitely a lot of it! I doubt 2 lbs worth, but just things that make you go hmmmmm.

Your hair looks great; such a beautiful pic of you! As much as I love running, I have to bikefess that biking is definitely my all-over-feels-so-good “go-to” fitness vice. It always feels good, and leaves me feeling better (even after a tough ride on the hilly bike path).

I don’t think that’s a confession about biking! I think it’s an astute observation & a great one to have made. It’s also how I feel about Yoga. 😊
Now you just need swimming to try a tri . . .

I bought TJ’s oatmeal and it was the same inside packaging as another brand. Interesting.
I love getting my haircut but I can’t wait…it’s so curly and unmanageable (and I refuse to let my gray show yet.) Yours looks great.
No miracle cures or workouts….just keep active DAILY!!

Interesting about the TJs oatmeal. Which was cheaper? In the store, the TJ tea was MUCH cheaper. I’m gonna have to hoard it this year when it comes out!

TJ was cheaper. But I don’t buy that kind anymore.
I used to drink tea but don’t anymore so got rid of most. And I had a lot. Mostly decaf.

What works wonders for weightloss for me is sitting in a van for 36 hours or so, eating running snacks and getting out to run every so often. Haha! Glad you scored more peppermint tea!

I actually get a terrible case of the munchies when we’re on road trips (like to ME, which was approximately a 7 hour drive). Because it’s just boring to me. It helps to drive — although I don’t really enjoy driving, either.
Glad HTC had another benefit for you. 🙂

Your hair looks great! I always feel good after a haircut but I am religious about getting them every 8 weeks. Always great to score your favorite tea!

I have never, ever been good about doing haircuts on a regular schedule. Seriously, who knows where they’ll be in 2 months?
This predates the Pandemic, which took it to a whole different level!
At least I’m ok with that. 🙂

About loosing weight: this summer I was very busy with running and spending wonderful time on the beach with my grandson. I have lost 3kg (6,6 lbs) even if I have eaten more than usual!
You won’t believe but I have never drunk peppermint tea.

I can believe you haven’t drunk peppermint tea. It’s good though, and great for the digestion!
I was pretty busy this summer, but mostly in hospitals & rehabs & crazy meal patterns. It definitely didn’t help me lose weight. I like your plan. 🙂

Your haircut looks great – very nice photo of you!
Interesting about the TJ tea. At least you were able to find it again!

I only have maybe a month to 6 weeks left of the tea . . . it doesn’t come out in the store until December (assuming they even have it this year).
I particularly like that it’s decaf, so we’ll see how that goes.

I have heard that TJ sometimes repackages other brands. At least you know where to get your tea now!
I’m going to vote that it was the colonoscopy prep that made you lose weight, not your haircut! Either that or just healthy living.
That is a great picture of you- nice to think that some things have actually gotten BETTER since high school!

Thanks about the photo, Jenny! My HS photo was just horrible. I was blow drying my hair at the time, it wasn’t as curly therefore, plus I was quite a bit heavier.
It seemed like the prep should’ve caused weight loss but I really don’t think it did!

Two pounds of hair? LOL! Do you think maybe it was the pre-colonoscopy diet? Hopefully you were able to enjoy your tomatoes after the procedure.
Nice photo!

No, it wasn’t the pre colonoscopy diet — I was actually weighing all along. Haven’t weight myself since my vacation, LOL, although clothes actually fit better afterward.
Yes, I was able to eat the tomatoes eventually — but I had to give away the first ripe ones because they wouldn’t have lasted a whole week!

My hair’s pretty thick so I feel like my whole head typically gets lighter after I get a haircut (probbaly also because I only cut my hair once every 1-1.5 years, haha).
I hope you still have tomatoes to enjoy later on!
I love the peppermint tea at TJ’s — thank you for the reminder to remember to go hoard it, hehehe.

Usually I do cut mine more often than this, although never regularly like I should! I do still have some tomatoes, but I had to give those away — they’d go bad in a week!
You don’t have to hoard the peppermint tea at TJs — as far as I know, that’s available year round. This is the Candy Cane decaf green tea — that’s a seasonal tea. Before the Pandemic I never had a problem getting enough, but even buying a lot when it first came out I still didn’t buy enough!

I had no idea hair weighted that much! I have to get mine cut I have so many dead ends.
Strength training has been so good for my prior injuries. I’ve been doing lots of hip stretches like lizard pose and pigeon pose for my hip and I use tibialis raises to strengthen the muscles in my shins to prevent shin splints and stress fractures which I was prone to last year.

Well, I don’t think my hair weighed that much, but it was a lot of hair, LOL!
Lizard is great for runners — pigeon can be, but for some people it still tweaks their knee — but so many good variations! Sounds like you’re doing a great job keeping fit!

Great hair, mine is really thick and heavy and I bet it weighs a ton! I had mine cut in June and thought that was it but apparently you have to keep getting it done – who knew! I managed 15 months before that …

I went even longer without a cut. I’ve never been great about getting regular cuts. I feel like I barely know what’s happening next week, let alone a month from now!
