Thanks, Coco and Deborah, I’m sitting here with my hot chocolate, and now the weather is appropriate for it! The subject doesn’t refer to races; I’m talking about this post.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I collect mugs. I use them, too. I got one from most of the states I ran a half marathon in. I already have one from ME. This should be a runfession, but I have to tell you I bought another ME mug while we were there (at an outside crafts fair). I need it like I need a hole in the head, yet it makes me smile every time I use it.
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you we still do see Albie (the albino squirrel) from time to time. I was worried, once, because I saw regular squirrels chasing him through our yard. Then another time there were a couple of regular squirrels and Albie back there peacefully coexisting. Last time we saw him he was way towards the back of our neighbor’s yard — so easy to spot due to his color.
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you speaking of critters, the other day I spotted a really big one making its way quickly across the backyard and literally said WTF is that? Then it dawned on me it was the groundhog that lives under our neighbor’s shed — I hadn’t seen them at all this year but apparently they’re still there.
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you normally I start this post well before it’s published, and I thought I had — until I sat down to “finish” it yesterday and realized that I hadn’t even started it! Another runfession!

It’s not all about how I look, it’s more about a healthy lifestyle & feeling good
If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you the reason I keep a closer eye on my weight than some is that I’ve looked like the above photo much of my adult life. In addition, my family tree is riddled with cancer, heart problems, blood pressure problems, diabetes, and dementia. All things that maintaining a healthy weight is one part of the puzzle of prevention.
Do short days (less sunlight) make you more forgetful?
What critters are you seeing around your home now?
What is your go-to Fall beverage?

I always start my day with hot coffee, but I do love fresh apple cider in the fall!
I’m glad you made it to the “coffee” date.

I don’t have that excuse of traveling! I hope you have a fantastic race, Deborah. Hard to believe it was 4 years ago for us!

My fall beverage is the same as all other seasons… earl grey tea. I know I’m always ranting about all the pumpkin I consume in the fall, but I actually don’t drink pumpkin spice lattes- although I’ve thought about trying to create a vegan/sugar free version at home. Maybe this will be the year!
I also collect mugs, and as a matter of fact my husband was just complaining that I have too many- NEVER!
Glad you got the post written. It would have been sad if you missed the coffee date!

Well the problem with the mugs is storing them! I haven’t counted, and I started collecting them before I started to run halfs, I have at the very least 20. Probably more. I do have my favorites though. 🙂

I write these so far in advance that sometimes they are not accurate anymore. I laugh.
Always coffee.
I collect Starbucks mugs. I found two from Montreal. Oops.

I have several doubles from states. I was sorely tempted to buy another mug from the same lady, but somehow I refrained myself. I did take her business card, but it’s unlikely I’ll actually order anything.

Luckily I was able to give it to a friend. I just tossed so many mugs. I mean how many does one need?

That mug is adorable! I bet you tea tastes even better as a result 🙂 Glad to hear Albie is doing well!

I just bought an Ice Age Trail mug but it will not be unveiled until I complete the Mammoth Challenge!

I once ordered a glass beer stein in advance of a race. Alas the race didn’t go as well as it should have, but I do still love that glass & use it a lot — it’s a great size for smoothies!

Last month I completely forgot to write my coffee date post and didn’t even realize it until I started getting notifications on Bloglovin’ about others’ posts.
Before I scrolled down far enough to see the full mug, I thought it was a funfetti cupcake or cookie! And yes, it’s super cute!

LOL about realizing the coffee date when you got notifications. I rarely look at mine (I don’t have too many set up via email).
And also LOL about the funfetti cupcake! Yum!

I like the short days after a long hot summer!
Every morning I drink a “cappuccino” (milk and coffee).
In my garden I see hedgehogs and birds, mainly seagulls (they come to pay homage to this old sailor).

I never enjoy the shorter days, they just really effect my mood & energy — but glad for you it’s a way to recharge!
I have definitely never seen a hedgehog out in the wild. They’re so cute!

As I look at all my mugs sitting out, waiting for their space in the new kitchen, I ponder why I collected so many. I do love them though, but going forward maybe I won’t get so many?? I say that now. I do love that funfetti mug!

I know exactly why I collect my mugs — because they’re useful, and they usually remind me of happy memories.
I try to reign myself in, but I just love locally made mugs!

That mug is so cute! :] I’m of the belief that if it makes you happy, it’s absolutely worth it!
Glad that Albie is still okay!

Thanks, Farrah. Although there definitely can be too much of a good thing. Probably time to release a few back into the universe (shhh! don’t tell my husband).

That mug would make me smile too 🙂 I’m always tempted to buy another mug but I have completely run out of space to store them…perhaps it’s time to purge.

I haven’t quite run out of space . . . Yet. 🤣 And I do have a small kitchen!

I hate the shorter days but haven’t noticed it making me anymore forgetful than I already am. I locked my poor teenage daughter outside in the back yard recently one evening because I forgot she was out there, then went upstairs! Luckily she was able to get in another way but I still hear about that from her! Hot cocoa is a great fall beverage.

Oh no! My Dad once forgot he was supposed to stay at work because I was being dropped off there on the way home from college. He had to come back & he worked at a place 45 minutes away from home. He was probably younger than I am now at the time!

I just got the hot cider K Cups and most definitely not hot drink weather this weekend.
I am the worst about runfessions and coffee. Never get them finished more than once a year. I’m working on November coffee because I want to talk about race goals, but that’s still 50.50 at best

I want a groundhog! We have awful things here: birds of prey, snakes, alligators, and all kinds of frogs, toads and lizards. Boo.
I love that mug. It’s so rustic and cozy looking!

We have birds of prey, too. Snakes, yes. Thankfully no alligators! Trust me though, you don’t want a groundhog! I’m glad they live at the neighbors.
