Life’s Little Surprises: Tea/coffee Date November 2022

Ultimate-Coffee-Date-1-300x300

I’m joining  Coco and Deborah — life can be filled with little surprises — good and bad. I’m sharing a couple today along with a few other odds and ends.

Why doesn’t it work when we try to make the ends grow?

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you Mr. Judy found the above growing in our compost (and by our, I really mean his — he takes care of it). So he rescued it. It’s cabbage, by the way, in case you were wondering. Except I did zero gardening this year. Compost gardening, anyone?

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you after 3 years (I think) on Peloton, I finally got to 100 in one category: meditation, LOL! I know I’m getting close to it for running, too. I have really been leaning hard into meditation this Summer — and before my race. I don’t usually do it for too long, but often 2 – 3 times per day.

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you had a big surprise one day — I was practicing Yoga in bed, which I do pretty much ever morning, and decided to do a couple of poses I don’t usually do because it would disturb Mr. Judy (he was in the bathroom).

I didn’t move over, though, and when I transitioned from one side to the other I fell off the bed! It wasn’t one of those slow motion falling things, either, it happened pretty fast.

Despite the lack of carpet in our bedroom and the stairs for Bandit, I somehow escaped injury. Good thing I had a chiropractor appointment anyway!

So weird

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you I did see weight bench guy a second time in the same place. This time he wasn’t wearing a mask, so I could tell he was a male. When I got there, he was sitting on the parking lot surface, stretching. It was so cold that day! By the time I came back from my run, he was back on the weight bench.

You can use that pointy edge to get at the stuck on dirt

If we were enjoying tea/coffee . . .
I’d tell you that now that my trail training is done with, I finally have a way to clean out the treads of my trail shoes. I’ve been running trails on and off for years, but I was using the handle of a spoon to clean the treads! This brush (Amazon Affiliate link here) does the job; just not sure how long it will hold up.

What’s your favorite time of year for a vacation? Me? Any time, truly!

Is there something you collect when you travel? Me, mugs.

How has running surprised you recently?

  1. I leave my trail shoes in my trunk so I don’t t bring dirt in the house. I’ve never cleaned them. Oops.

Hope your half marathon was fun as well as your vacation. I prefer to go away in the winter to a warm place. And on fall and spring vacations with friends.

I’m trying to declutter my house so just pictures and memories. No stuff.

No surprises that I can think of.

    1. My little brush worked great. Obviously I didn’t have access to a hose on this trip. The tread was plastered with leaves on my hiking boots & they easily brushed right off.

Weight bench guy is definitely one of the weirder things I’ve seen.

  3. LOL on weight bench guy. I just don’t get it.

Yikes on falling off your bed! Glad you are OK. I come close to falling off sometimes because I sleep on the edge — especially if I get warm and need a break from the blankets. 😉

    So cool on the cabbage!

  4. That’s awesome that your compost grew something, haha. I’ve still been trying to get into composting but this’ll probably take a while!

I’m glad you didn’t come away from that fall with any injuries!

I usually collect a magnet and/or a sticker when I visit national parks!
