Sometimes that’s literally hitting the trails, as in falling onto them. Thankfully the falls are not often. My worst fall ever was on pavement.

I runfess . . .
I am really loving all the shade on the trails I’ve been running on (and the Great Blue Herons, too!).
I runfess . . .
I didn’t really discover these trails until the Pandemic forced me to find new places to run. I’m really looking forward to see the changing leaves on these trails this Fall.
I runfess . . .
Prior to my fall in the trail 10k (read about it here), I did trip early on one trail run, but remained upright. I didn’t think I’d rolled an ankle (still don’t) but the next day the side of that foot ached. I wondered if it was my trail shoes, but I’ve been wearing them a few weeks. I’m grateful that the ache went away on its own in a few days.

I runfess . . .
It’s only recently that I realized that the name of the park is spelled Thacher, not Thatcher. Which is why it was hard to locate my previous race recaps — I’d spelled the name of the park wrong!

I runfess . . .
I remember noticing the Lock near the power dam for the first time this year. I’d seen the dam while running these trails last year, but didn’t notice the lock. I tried to figure out which lock it is — above is the power dam as seen from Lock 7..

Remember that lock that I stopped to walk across and photograph in the middle of a long run on the bike path a couple of months ago? Yup, that’s the very same lock I can see from across the river on the trails (see photo above). Hey, I’ve only lived here 13 years!
Do you continue to find new things in places you run often?
Looking forward to the changing leaves even if it means goodbye to Summer?
What do you have to runfess from August? Come join us
I am also linking up with:

A lot of people still spell that park wrong. I runfess, it annoys me.
I discovered trails because of the Pandemic too. Iran 100 new ones but the thrill is gone.
Now it’s twice a week and organized ones.
I enjoy the fall foliage but nope, flowers, sunshine, daylight… I will miss you!!!!!

I think most people do miss the longer days.

Haha, I love the song puns, Judy! I also discovered my trails during the pandemic and now I am hooked. The pandemic took a lot of things from us, but the trails were definitely a gift to me!

I did start running trails long before the Pandemic — but not this particular one. We’d gone there once to walk the dogs when we first moved here & found it too buggy. Which is odd because the bugs haven’t been bad this Summer — but we’ve been so dry. As it rains at the moment, LOL!

You’ve discovered some gorgeous trails. All the years of marathon training I did opened up lots of new places and trails to run on. I’ve turned the corner on summer and now I’m actually looking forward to the beauty of fall.

I am looking forward to Fall but still appreciate being able to wear a tank & skirt!

I love to see all the photos from everyone’s trail runs but not quite ready to make the leap over to running on them. I do like a good hike though! Yes, can’t wait for the foliage to change and bring in those cooler temps

I definitely don’t think you can compare trail running at altitude with running trails at home! But it doesn’t matter; do what you enjoy!

Much nicer than the first place I started to run trails at!

I wish the leaves changed colors here! Although when I lived up north I actually always found it depressing because it meant a cold, dark winter was coming. I’ll just appreciate everyone’s beautiful photos from afar!
When I was running on the trails in Texas I tripped and slipped many, many times- always while I was walking, which was good because if I had been trying to run that section I definitely would have gone down hard. But trails are great- I’m envious of the beautiful ones you have to run on.

I didn’t miss Fall in TX! It is live.y, but as you say what follows it . . .
It’s funny because I’m always envious of non technical trails!

I love continuing to find new things near where I live. As far as the changing leaves, fall is great but then winter isn’t far behind, and that’s the season I really don’t like.

Not a fan of Winter either but trying hard to appreciate season for what it is.

Although I’m not a fan of Fall (because we all know the season that follows), I do appreciate the beauty of the changing leaves. We’ve already had a touch of fall-like weather, especially in the mornings.

We actually haven’t had a lot of cool mornings yet. A few here & there but not enough!

I find new puppies on my usual runs. Does that count?
I love all your views and new perspectives. So incredible.

Gotta comment like Jenn, but I also see new cats. 🙂 I love Fall and seeing the colors of the leaves. But I do know that Winter will be coming too and I do not like it at all.

Winter is definitely hard on me (very) but it’s going to come after fall no matter what so you might as well enjoy Fall!
