Let’s just say all sorts of plans got screwed up in the last couple of weeks, the end result being that we are going to visit my mom today — and that means only two runs this week. Not at all the plan but it is what it is.
On the brighter side, Albie the Albino squirrel has been entertaining us with their (don’t know its gender) antics more than ever lately.
I’m joining Kim @ Kimrunsonthefly and Deborah @ Confessionsofamotherrunner and ready to welcome in 2024!

Running Update
Monday intention: get outside!
The calm before . . . days of rain. Nothing too exciting, just a run around the hood. New shoes, but same type I’ve been running in a while.
Friday intention: time on my feet
I’d been waiting for a day when I had enough energy and could find a break in the rain. I thought this would be the day. Nope. But I had the energy, so I took it to the treadmill and just shortened it to 2 miles. My foot only very mildly ached the rest of the day. Progress (I hope).
Favorites of the week
It was another quiet week and we were both kind of dragging most of the week. We really should have gone to my mom on Tuesday, but as I often say to people, you can’t change the past. Yesterday was so wet it would have been hard having Bandit along (and he can’t be home alone that long).
So today hopefully we’re bringing my mom another pizza and then getting home early to get off the roads!
May everyone have a peaceful, joyful new year filled with family and loved ones (even furry ones!)

Coming up next Week: WRD. Tea!
Enjoy your trip to see your mom! And Happy New Year!

Two runs are better than no runs.
What a rainy week. I guess the weather Gods were on my side.
Hope you enjoy your day and NYE.

I’m sure Albie’s antics give you lots of enjoyment. I’ve not seen our white (or albino – didn’t see its eyes) for a couple of years now and only saw it once or twice when it was out and about near us.
Safe travels on your trip to visit your mom!
Here’s to a healthy and fit 2024!

Thanks Deb! Albie has been here at least several times a week, sometimes almost daily — I think he’s been around 3 years (and I read squirrels can live up to 10!).

I’m glad you have a good feeling. I don’t expect much to be changing but we do have a couple of fun trips (eventually).

Happy New Year.
We are chilling at home with some lobster pasta. Tomorrow is Mr PugRunner’s 50th, so we are trying to get all prepped for that and his birthday trip.
Love to you all. I hope things settle down soon.

Mmmm. Lobster pasta sounds good. Although my husband would say it’s a waste of good lobster. Hope your hubby had a wonderful celebration! Knowing you I’m sure it was special.

My diet has been overloaded with sugar the past few weeks. It will be hard to detox! 😉

My diet hasn’t been too off the rails but movement has been hit or miss. Hope the year is starting off right for you Lisa!

Sounds like London levels of rain! Its tough to be energized this time of year…the darkness and rain doesn’t help.
Happy New Year and wishing you all the best with your family.
